The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009)
This tale of a man traveling through time, and in and out of the life of the woman he loves, promises a new take on an old plot device. Unfortunately, while the novel that spawned the film may have succeeded, its progeny does not. An inexpert script provides few surprises and even fewer satisfactions, and the lead actors, Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, are merely adequate, as is the direction. Skip it.
