For the Love of Film...

Welcome to my review website. I love movies, and here’s the place I talk about them. You’ll find my ratings, on a scale of zero to five stars, in all of my posts. For each film, I’ve written either a full critique, which is a longer piece; a compact review, which is usually just a paragraph; or a quick take, which is only a sentence or two. I also post articles about the world of cinema on my film blog.

In the Comments section on each page, feel free to share your own thoughts and feelings about the films discussed here.

Män som Hatar Kvinnor [The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo] (2009)

Män som Hatar Kvinnor [The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo] (2009)

Adapted from Stieg Larsson’s international bestseller, this film clocks in at 152 minutes, yet feels half as long. Engaging from the beginning, this cold-case murder mystery also takes care of its protagonists, peeling away the layers of their characters as the story progresses. Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace breathe life into their lead roles, both actors doing justice to the smart script. Excellent direction, photography, and editing make this one of the better new movies released in some time.
