The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013)
A hot mess of a film, except that it’s not even hot. Lackluster direction of an empty script wastes good actors Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, and Olivia Wilde; only Alan Arkin manages to rise above the material. Lacking both drama and comedy, the movie actually is worse even than that would suggest, concluding by rewarding the protagonists when they decide to act in immoral and unprofessional ways. Don’t bother.
