Cinderella Liberty (1973)
Surprisingly poignant tale of a sailor sidelined on land by a minor physical ailment and the subsequent misplacement of his naval records. During his amorphous, unassigned status, he meets and begins a complicated relationship with a barfly and her mixed-race son. James Caan and Eli Wallach are fine, but Marsha Mason shines in her Oscar-nominated role. Quiet and compelling.
