Above and Beyond (1952)
Interesting account of Colonel Paul W. Tibbets, the man charged with training his men for the mission to deploy the first atomic weapon in combat. Robert Taylor is convincingly strained as he discharges his responsibilities and nears the time he will help kill a hundred thousand people. His marriage and family life suffer, and he questions the morality of what he’s doing, which is good to see. Not a great film, but solid and worthwhile.
