For each film, I’ve written either a full critique, which is a longer piece; a compact review, which is usually just a paragraph; or a quick take, which is only a sentence or two. This film represents another failure from M. Night Shyamalan, whose writing and directing have never returned to the quality he reached with his 1999 feature, The Sixth Sense. This dopey tale has a good hook, but no decent middle or ending.
