1922 (2017)
Based on a Stephen King novella and more or less a creditable exercise in storytelling, this film follows the unhappy lives of a farmer, his wife, and their teenaged son, set in the title year. The wife’s inheritance of a hundred nearby acres sets up a conflict within the family, played with understated and effective tension. Best viewed as a psychological piece rather than as horror.
