Apr 21 Between Two Ferns: The Movie (2019)

Zach Galifianakis’ faux online talk show has graduated from the Funny or Die website and the show’s subsequent special on Comedy Central to become a film on Netflix. Though difficult to judge for cinematic value, Between Two Ferns: The Movie retains the intentionally low-budget look and the irreverent, improvisational nature of its forebears, with Mr. Galifianakis routinely asking celebrities insulting questions and them responding on the spot. It’s not a traditional film, but it is funny, and it’s always amusing to watch celebrities willing to mine humor from their own lives and at their own expense.
